Denver Saves 30 Percent by
Competitively Tendering Paratransit

Denver's Regional Transportation District (RTD) awarded a contract to Atlantic Express, Inc. in October of 1998. The agency estimates that the savings over the five year contract period will be $25.5 million compared to internal RTD operation. This is a difference of 30 percent.

Atlantic Express assumes a service that was previously provided by Laidlaw Transit.
