Portland Westside Traffic Increases
Despite New Light Rail Line

Data from the Oregon Department of Transportation indicates that traffic on US-26, on Portland's west side, increased faster than that the two downtown oriented freeway corridors without light rail from 1997 to 2001. During the period, Portland opened the West Side light rail line along the US-26 corridor.
